Library Card
Who May Use the Library
A. The library will serve all residents of the community and the public library system area. Service will not be denied or abridged because of religious, racial, social, economic, or political status; or because of mental, emotional, or physical condition; age; or sexual orientation.
B. The use of the library may be denied for due cause. Such cause may be failure to return library materials or to pay penalties, destruction of library property, disturbance of other patrons, or any other illegal, disruptive, or objectionable conduct on library premises.
C. All borrowers must be registered and must have a valid local patron card to borrow library materials.
D. Applicants under 13 years of age must have a parent or guardian give their consent on the application form before a new card can be issued. This parental signature is not required for children who are renewing cards.
E. Materials cannot be checked out until a library card is issued.
F. All library cards expire after three (3) years. In order to renew a library card, patrons must produce identification and must clear all outstanding fines and bills. Patrons must fill out an application form to register for a new library card.
Fines
Fines will be 5 cents per day for each item that is overdue.
Lost or Damaged Materials
If materials are lost or damaged, the card holder will be charged a replacement cost. The card holder will be given sufficient time to locate the lost material before a charge is in place.
Book Reserves
The library will reserve a book that is requested by taking your name and phone number. Reserves can also be made online from the library’s website through your library account. The library will contact the card holder when the material is available.
Book Renewal
The library will renew materials by telephone or by bringing the material to the library. Materials can also be renewed online from the library’s website through your library account. Exceptions for renewal is if the material is in high demand or if there is a reserve on the material.
